ICANN's New IRTP Policy - System Updates Skip to main.
On December 1, 2016 ICANN implemented the new The Inter-Registrar Transfer Policy (IRTP) that governs domain name transfers between ICANN registrars and now also the process of a material change of ownership. This means that a sequence of authorizations, approvals, and possibly confirmation email notices are now required for a material change of registrant information, such as a change to a domain name's registrant first name, last name, or email address. Please keep in mind that now even small changes to a domain name's registrant first name, last name, organization, and email address may trigger the validation process.

HEXONET has made several improvements to our system (both within the control panel and API commands)  to accommodate these new changes including better options for resellers that use modules like WHMCS as well as diagrams that outline possible change of registrant scenarios.
