Our Domain Migration and Consolidation Tool for WHMCS is now a WHMCS Addon Module that includes a web-based user interface for the configuration and management of domain migrations!

The addon module allows users to automatically migrate domains from any registrar to HEXONET at the point of domain renewal. The process simply cancels the domain renewal and instead initiates the migration/transfer - though the domain renewal request itself remains in the WHMCS System and is used for invoicing the transfer. EPP/Authorization Codes for registrars that do not support revealing them via API, can be configured beforehand in a special table. If configured, the module also takes care of informing your clients via email as part of the process! If a domain is locked, it will be unlocked for the transfer process automatically.

Earlier this year, we migrated the HEXONET DNS service to a brand new infrastructure built for us by the CentralNic DNS team.
The migration was seamless for all the resellers and customers using the nameservers provided by HEXONET.

If you are using Vanity Nameservers (i.e. nameservers under a domain you own, but pointing to HEXONET DNS IP addresses), we recommend verifying your setup to make sure both IPv4 and IPv6 point to the right address.

The easiest way to do this is to:

1. log into your Control Panel account.

2. Use the menu at the top-right to navigate to your profile

3. Open "Products > Domain Name Settings" to see the nameservers currently set as default for your account.

You can also verify the default nameservers by editing the nameserver configuration of any domain in your account (flip the switch to "USE SYSTEM NAMESERVERS" to see them). You can then ping them to get the correct IPv4 and IPv6 to use for your vanity Nameservers.

Remember that you can also host all your domains on the HEXONET Anycast DNS service, including those registered with other registrars or on your own accreditation. External DNS hosting comes with a modest maintenance fee, but the service is free until the end of the year!

In compliance with upcoming policy changes brought about by CA Browser (CA/B) Forum ballot SC45, we will make updates to the circumstances under which file-based Domain Control Validation (DCV) can be employed.

The CA/Browser Forum has determined that this process is insufficient for validating wildcard domains or entire domain spaces. The recent ballot mandates the disallowance of file-based authentication for wildcard certificates. For multi-domain certificates using file-based DCV, each subdomain must be independently validated. This requirement affects all SSL/TLS certificate requests and thus all types of certificates offered at HEXONET.

Requesters who have used file-based DCV in the past may continue to use this method for multi-domain certificates by simply inserting the assigned token into each subdomain to be validated. If they prefer, requesters can choose a different DCV method for multi-domain certificates instead. Those requesting wildcard certificates will need to choose a method other than file-based DCV.

Please note that the Terms and Conditions of registration applicable for the TLDs .SE & .NU have been revised and will enter into force on November 1, 2021. The updated Terms and Conditions of registration will apply to all domain name holders irrespectively of the date of registration.

In short, the changes made are as follows:

Clarification in section 4.1.1, the condition to provide personal identification number, or corporate identity number, is widened to cover also foreign equivalents (applicable only for .se).
Addition in section 5.1.4 regarding the Swedish Internet Foundation’s right to change, or remove, any provided name servers if considered obviously incorrect.
Addition in section 6.1.2, in case of deficiency of the domain holder’s responsibility to provide correct information, it is clarified that the domain holder is not entitled to perform registration services until the deficiency is remedied.
Addition in section 6.1.5 regarding right to deny renewal of a domain name if the domain holder has been dissolved (bankruptcy/liquidation/deceased, whereby the estate has been dissolved).
Addition in section 7.3.1, a referral to Procedural Rules (applicable for .se).
Adjustment in section 7.3.1 to Swedish general court, and the current limitation to Stockholm District Court is deleted (applicable for .se).

You are obligated to inform your .SE & . NU customers about this legal update.

Please explain to them that, as a domain holder, they need to read through the new Terms and Conditions but they don´t have to do anything to maintain their domain name, the domain name registration is not affected. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
